Step 1: Start with fully drenched hair
Wet your hair until it is drenched all the way through. Then use a soft microfiber towel or cotton T-shirt to gently scrunch out only the water that would otherwise drip. Cup a section of your hair, lift it toward your scalp, squeeze once, and let go. Do not rub your hair back and forth.
Your hair should still look and feel fully drenched when you finish. Water keeps the strands grouped as you scrunch, helping the wave or curl pattern already there take shape and dry with more definition.

Step 2: Build volume with Curl Mousse
Dispense one pump of Curl Mousse into one palm. Press your palms together.

Instant volume & definition
Start at the tips of your hair and scrunch upward toward the roots. Work around your head until the mousse is evenly distributed. Curl Mousse can go throughout your hair, including the roots. It is the lighter product in this routine, so it builds lift while starting to define the pattern.

Step 3: Add definition with Curl Cream
Take a quarter-size amount of Curl Cream and rub your palms together until it is fully emulsified. Your hands should look evenly coated.

Instant definition & hold
Scrunch the Curl Cream into the tips of your hair only. This adds more curl definition, while leaving the roots lifted, so hair doesn't get weighed down.

Step 4: Diffuse or air dry to lock in the style
Once you're happy with the look, diffuse or air dry to lock in the style.
If you prefer to diffuse, use low heat and low airflow. Cup a section of your hair in the diffuser bowl, lift it toward your scalp, hold for a few seconds, then move to the next section.
A diffuser spreads the air across a wider area than a bare blow-dryer nozzle. That makes the airflow less direct, so it can dry your hair faster than air drying without blowing the curl pattern straight.
Prefer to air dry? Let your hair dry without touching it while the pattern sets. It will take longer, and you may get less lift at the roots, but you'll still get the volume and definition you want.

The 60-Second Version
-
This routine enhances a wave or curl pattern that is already present. It is built for wavy to curly hair with fine to normal density.
-
Step 1: Start fully drenched: Wet your hair through, then lightly scrunch out only the dripping water with a microfiber towel or T-shirt. Keep your hair fully drenched to help the curl pattern form.
-
Step 2: Add Curl Mousse throughout. Press a dollop between your palms and scrunch from the tips toward the roots for volume and initial definition.
-
Step 3: Add Curl Cream to the tips. Emulsify a quarter-size amount between your palms, then scrunch it into the tips only so the roots keep their lift.
-
Step 4: Diffuse on low heat. Cup each section, lift toward the scalp, hold, and move. Use low heat and airflow to lock in the style, or let your hair air dry without touching it.
