Santal: smooth, woody warmth
Santal is our first signature fragrance. Its main notes are sandalwood, iris, and saffron.
It opens with lemon peel and matcha tea. As the opening fades, iris, vanilla orchid, and cypress come forward. The base settles into sandalwood and saffron, giving Santal its smooth, woody warmth.
Choose Santal if you already gravitate toward sandalwood or other woody fragrances. It's also the easier choice if you want to carry the same fragrance through selected hair products, since Santal is available in products like Sea Salt Spray and Leave-In Conditioner as well as the Body Lotion.
Amber: deep, warm, and quietly addictive
Amber is BASED’s second signature fragrance. Its main notes are rich amber, orange flesh, and cedarwood.
It opens with fresh ginger, lemon, and orange flesh. The middle brings in ionone, vanilla, and patchouli. The base settles into rich amber, cedarwood, and vetiver, giving the fragrance its depth and warmth.
Choose Amber if you prefer a warmer, richer finish. Cedarwood and vetiver appear in its base, but the fragrance as a whole sits in the Ambery family rather than the Woody family.
The quickest way to choose
Start with the fragrances you already like. If your cologne, body wash, or favorite candle leans toward sandalwood and dry woods, start with Santal. If you tend to choose amber, vanilla, patchouli, or warmer finishes, start with Amber.
Then wear the fragrance on your skin. Fragrance interacts with individual body chemistry, so the same notes can smell a little different from person to person. Give the top notes time to fade and pay attention to the middle and base before deciding.
